Make sure to sign up for 1-3 even if you already qualify for Medicaid or you are over the income limit! Have social security number ready along with birthday. These are extremely important for everyone regardless of income. 

01. Texas Home Living (TxHmL)

Important!

Medicaid waiver program that provides essential community-based services and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who live in their family homes or their own homes. (Call your nearest Lakes Regional MHMR Center) No online applications.

02. Home and Community-Based Services (HCS)

Important!

Medicaid waiver that provides personalized support and long-term care to individuals with intellectual disabilities or related conditions so they can live in community settings instead of institutions. (including foster/companion care or small group homes) (Call your nearest Lakes Regional MHMR Center) No online applications.

03. Texas Medicaid Waiver Application & Info

If you are over the Medicaid income limit, sign up for either 4 or 5. Once approved for the buy-in, then sign up for 7 for reimbursement. No need to sign up if your income is within the Medicaid requirements and requires either private health insurance or employer-sponsored health insurance.

04. Texas Medicaid Buy-in for Children

The Medicaid Buy-In for Children (MBIC) program offers low-cost Medicaid services to children with disabilities whose families make too much money to get Medicaid.

05. Texas Medicaid Buy-in for Adults

The Medicaid Buy-In (MBI) program offers low-cost Medicaid services to adults with disabilities who work.

06. (HIPP) Texas Health Insurance Premium Payment Program

The Texas Health Insurance Premium Payment (HIPP) Program is a Medicaid service that reimburses eligible families for all or part of their employer-sponsored health insurance premiums when it is cost-effective for the state.
